An imitation of Little Nightmares aesthetic paired with a new level design for said style

 

 

 

 

 

 

The goal of this project was to reproduce a style of an existing game of our choice and then design a possible level for said game.
My pick was Little Nightmares by Tarsier Studios. I started out by blocking out the level, fixing a camera movement through it and put lights in the scene. Afterwards, the mood of the game was further established with the help of according shader and texturing work. After rendering the sequence, the footage was run through After Effects to apply post processing to it. Following this, I created GIFs out short parts of the final film. I like how the grain and data loss of the GIF “baking” even strengthens the established mood.
